Southwark. A historic suburb reborn.

Southwark was set out in 1881, the first planned expansion beyond the city’s original boundaries. Colonel Light’s cottage stood here, and over time Thebarton took the name and replaced Southwark altogether. The original name is now being reinstated and a suburb reborn.
